John Nielsen assumes sole responsibility as Managing Director of OPDR CANARIAS

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1st of July 2012. "We regret the fact that Claus Peter Claussen has decided to retire given his outstanding contribution over the course of the last 18 years", says OPDR Managing Director Till Ole Barrelet. "With John Nielsen we have though been able to appoint a worthy successor with over 30 years experience of the Spanish shipping market."

 

John Nielsen joined OPDR CANARIAS in April 2012 and has worked closely with Claus Peter Claussen and the rest of the OPDR CANARIAS team to ensure a smooth handover. "Thanks to the excellent support of the OPDR Canarias team as well as the OPDR team in general, I am well prepared for my new position. The Spanish market is challenging and it is good to know that I have an experienced and reliable team behind me."

 

The Danish born John Nielsen has extensive experience in Spain and a long track record of building successful business units in shipping having started his career with Maersk Line in 1978. He joins OPDR CANARIAS having previously been Managing Director of WEC Lines in Spain.
